I'm getting a doctorate in a particular social science and it's getting harder for me to be the sensitive and supportive professional by day, playfully sarcastic misanthrope by night. I'm currently a college student studying Laser Electro-Optic Technology at TSTC Waco. Don't let the technical college part fool you, this is an awesome program. I should be wrapping it up in August.

When people get the chance to get to know me quite often they tell me that I'm an awesome person or that they really enjoy talking to me. I'm good at making friends like that and I really do cherish them when I find them. I love my friends. They're like family and I would do anything for them.

Other than being generally awesome I'm apparently odd. Not in a bad way, just in a way that gets people's attention. I'm a very unique person. That rarely means that I don't get along with someone, but it does mean that quite often my interactions are outside the norm.

Nerdy and proud of it. I love to travel, and have done only an ounce of the pound I expect in my life. I've lived in Texas, Dublin, Boston, Chicago and a short stint in Fremont, IN (due to car failure). The two things I love most are education and theatre, so I'm a middle school theatre teacher. I have a few tattoos and expect to get more. I appreciate a good joke almost as much as a bad one. I still skate in spite of my impending olditude and justify it with my new found health insurance. I live on the family ranch and spend a decent amount of time tending to it. Fixing fences and loading calves mostly.

I tend to stay home more than I go places for recreation, barring the occasional movie.

Otherwise I can usualy be found down at the river reading a book or playing a video game with my little brother. I know it sounds nerdy but it's what I do. ^^

I tend to have the most fun when whoever I'm with is aswell. I'd say the majority of the things I do are aimed at making the people around me laugh.

My favorite types of music are rock (eg. Def Leppard, Beach Boys, Stray Cats, Styx, Foreigner, Killers, Lynard Skynard, etc.,), some pop, strong beat electronica (eg. Funk Soul Brother), and songs that are touching in a romantic kind of way whether it is about loving or love lost (eg. Break It To Me Gently, The Sweetest Thing, The Story of My Life, Could I Have This Dance). I like most any kind of movies (special mention to romantic comedies and good sci-fi, Star Wars not included, Matrix is), but not slapstick comedy and not juvenile humor. Mostly just like interesting characters, stories, situations and sometimes awesome action and special effects. I like all kinds of food except for bell peppers, asparagus and cooked squash. I love pastries. I am pretty fit because I work out 3-5 times a week running and lifting weights, an occasional 5k. When there are no walls to the things I want/like my willpower wanes. I deny myself excess by keeping it away from me. (eg. big box of malted milk balls is not to be brought into my house). Activities I like-- not in any particular order-- are spending time with my kids, golf, working out, socializing with friends and family, online gaming (current is LOTR), card/board games, pool, bowling, basketball, football, attending sporting events at all levels (kid thru pro), messing around on the computer, reading, watching movies. I'm an atheist, but my best friends have very deep faith. I do not have aspirations of being the president of my company, but my work is challenging, fulfilling and interesting and that's good enough for me. I am stable both emotionally and financially but definitely not gold-digger material. I think I'm intelligent, funny, easy-going, affectionate, not-dramatic, friendly, social but I wouldn't call myself an extrovert. That oughta be enough.

I moved up to Waco from Austin last summer. I have been in and out of really bad relationships and have gone on too many really, horribly bad dates. Dont get me wrong, Im not angry about the bad dates, Im just really amused! Even my co-workers are amused. (i.e. one date a guy picked me up on his motorcycle but wouldnt let me use his helmet... he asked if I was worried about helmet hair! lol, I prefer my head to my hair...) Im really just looking to get back in the "dating world." Its just a date or two, right? If a relationship develops, great! If not, no harm done. As a side note, I cant be nice all the time.
