Waco Texas Marriott Hotel
Hotel construction is booming in Waco, and Marriott is getting involved, but with the hotel industry in turmoil, developers are teaming up on the Mary Avenue property to build a $1.5 million 1,000-room hotel. The new $2.2 million Marriott Hotel will face South 6th Street and include a 2,500-square-foot lobby, 3,200-seat restaurant and a 5-story 300-bed hotel with a rooftop pool.
Structured parking would allow for multiple destinations interspersed with easy walking routes, Henderson said. The hotel will replace the building once operated by Olmsted Kirk Paper Co., which announced months ago that it would move its Waco location to another location in the city. SRH Hospitality plans to begin construction of a conference hotel on the site of the proposed Mary Avenue hotel in the next few months, according to Henderson.
He also said the hotel will be located at 111 E. Mary Ave., north of the Waco Convention Center.
